As expected NYC police cars are stationed at synagogues as supporters of the Palestinians demonstrate in the streets. What are the chances, though, that unprecended attacks break out like those in Israel or as shown on 9/11, not the widespread versions but some far more devious and unanticipated by the formulaic, benumbing chants of "9/11" or "Yom Kippur" or "Pearl Harbor?"
Say, more like MLK, JFK and RFK assassinatons, or OKC, or Uvalde, or solo hits of notable celebrities and politicians. There is more than a little strutting of predicting what may happen after calamities, as if intending to exploit the headlining furor of citing prior headline obsession. In fact this headline parading may induce further copycat horrors to benefit from the tried and true efforts to rile and rue the public's fickle interests.
Granted that it takes considerable talent and intelligence to concoct and distribute novel explanations and predictions. Some wizards caution that it is irresponsible to layout new ways of creating panic due to the prospect of doing just those firebrandings ginned up in Hollywood laboratories of Predators galore.
One thing is sure, excessive hyperbole can generate an addiction for more, in consumers and in perpetrators. Each of us may be a victim of the crowd's whims of
excitement at the pains of others.
