Overly complex tax regulations is what allows Mr. Trump and others of great wealth to minimize or eliminate taxation and unfairly increase the taxes of less endowed.
Simplification of the tax regulations is sorely needed to assure equity and fairness in assessments of income, investment, benefits, and most importantly in transparency to warrant public trust.
Personal wealth taxation avoidance is part of the issue but perhaps more important is corporate tax evasion which enriches business and its investors in ways not as available to individual workers and their families.
Moving profits and institutions offshore to avoid taxation must be constrained, whether now done legally and according to reports and leaks, illegally.
Financial markets thriving on blazing transactions and aggressively imaginative and hard to track machinations also must be brought under control for proper evaluation and taxation.
Then there is the horrendous national debt voraciously gobbling trillions in debt servicing so powerful to shape government policy on taxation for those who sustain the mountainous obligation.
Not to be too unrealistic, but a monthly easy to understand accounting of taxation should be published, available at no cost, naming names openly of the top gainers and explaining how its done -- should be undone.
Otherwise fed-up action by the public may be due, say, a tax strike to tremble the innards of those reaping the take of obfuscation and secrecy, ie, like Mr. Trump, et al.
