‘A Momentous Day’: New York Lifts Most Virus Restrictions

On the NYC M5 bus today all passengers and the driver were wearing masks, as were most of pedestrians in mid-town along with construction workers. This suggests Mr. Cuomo's relaxation is not yet persuasive to veterans of prolonged trauma, maybe call it PTSD at risk of over-emphasis as if returning from war after which senior officers commanding grunts to get over it from the safety of headquarters.
Lasting lesson learned by grunts is self-preservation in the face of upper level strategists directing symbols on a map, kind of like civilian officials diagramming and charting the Covid pandemic and only occasionally showing carnage at hospitals, senior homes, bedrooms, funeral and burial sites.
So lifting Covid restrictions may be taken to be politicians and business leaders hoping to get back to normalcy where strategy triumphs over charging into deadly combat, casualites to be expected, hey, war is hell -- for some of the unlucky, heaven to those who love it.
May take a while for the millions of Americans and others worldwide to get over being exposed to horrific risk, losing family and neighbors by the hundreds of thousands mostly due to hard-hearted incompetency of officials, of commerce, of bosses, of vax defiers, of disaster opportunists fattening their purses.
Wearing masks may come to be worn as medals of valor in the battle against the commanders of the commonweal utter failure, from city, to state, to nation, to the world.
Distrust disease is not going away.
