A mini scandal compared to the one coming to light with Amazon with a far greater scope from books, gadgets, housewares, you name it, to clouds for coms, orgs, govs, mils, buyers, along with hackers and scrapers and sellers and freedom of information fighters of stolen data handily stored with penetrable security at various digital warehouses and server farms across the nation and outside it in tax avoidance havens.
A shadowy world of commerce and espionage operating with impunity below the surface of avid, even narcotic, dependency upon online frenzied searches, buys, confessions, braggarts, disdaining restraint and once habitual keeping creepy tell-all stuff close to chests and breasts with a maybe a bit happily chirped on neighborhood party lines, and a quite a bit more on Mr. Hoover's newby wiretaps hoping to compete with spooky HUMINT of the dark world.
The Faustian pact of openness on the data freeways to purchase and gossip with abandon in exchange for unlimited grabbing of personal beliefs, desires, moola, sin, salvation, education, conspiracy, treason, cheating, lying, betraying, could hardly be dreamed of in analog world constrained by corporeal physicality, a modicum of morality, a tinge of caboose time, rare possibility of public exposure and enjoyable infame.
None of that common pretense of decency and catch-me-if-you can larceny now, all bets off, all limits lifted, espionage is unregulated, slurped all around the pharma internet by all users become abusers.
