Bigger and Biggest Lies
Texas, Land of Wind and Lies

Don't forget that NYC keeps warm and lit by fossil fuel pumped up to the city from Texas, that TLC energy coming north since the 1940s during WW2, and without it ConEdison would have a large problem feeding the bright lights and brightest minds and coldest hearts of the boros.
Keep sharp eyes peeled for the green gas line ventilators and valves along sidewalks and inside parks, and crossings of the Hudson from Staten Island and New Jersey, their cone-head tops and control panels assure most of the denizens and their subways keep running without dependency upon coal smearing the faces of high-rises and lungs of super-rich and poor alike.
And worth noting that little oil-patch Odessa, TX, in the heart of the Permian Basin, once surpassed NYC in annual murders per capita, giving a tiny relief from being No. 1 in population control by gunfire, knife, vehicle, corrupt politicians cutting back on health care (excuse moi, Mr. Cuomo).
Sure Texans tell tales, and none so big as those told by Europeans and Easterners about the glories of immigrating to Texas, never mind the native Americans and Mexicans proving no welcome to the refugees from the hardships imposed back home.
So Texas insisted on the right to secede from the thankless promoters as a condition of becoming a state of the US. And one of the few states still teaching its own history rather than the PR version pumped like wind/solar lies from its consumers around the warring globe. NYC never tells big ones, got it.
